🚨 Stunningly real fake anchors — for a fictious news outlet called Wolf News — were created by artificial intelligence software and appeared in footage on social media that seemed to promote the interests of the CCP. hongkongfp.com/2023/02/08/ai-…

This is hardly limited to Chinese phones. Every Android does it.
🇨🇳 phone makers like Xiamoi, OnePlus, and Oppo are all collecting massive amounts of sensitive user data via their respective OS, as are a variety of pre-installed apps. The data is also getting hoovered up by an assortment of other private actors.

On the Sy Hersh fan fiction, I think the comments from the Whitehouse and CIA sum it up admirably.
Adrienne Watson, a White House spokesperson, said in an email, “This is false and complete fiction.”
Tammy Thorp, a spokesperson for the Central Intelligence Agency, similarly wrote: “This claim is completely and utterly false.”
There are plenty of more detailed rebuttals, going into details about how his story is not internally consistent, or how what he claims makes no sense, or even how the quotes attributed to his single source don’t sound like an American military personnel.but honestly, I’ll just leave it at “it’s fiction.”
